Cillian Murphy is officially stepping back into the sharp suit of Tommy Shelby — but this time, it’s cinematic.
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is the highly anticipated feature-length follow-up to the hit series, directed by Tom Harper and written by series creator Steven Knight. The film will hit theaters on March 6 before landing on Netflix globally on March 20.
Murphy, who also serves as a producer on the project, says the leap from TV to film required something bigger.
“If you’re gonna make a film of a TV show, it has to have all the bells and whistles,” he explained, adding that the team is aiming for that “cinematic magic dust.”
Set in 1940 Birmingham — six years after the series finale — the story finds Tommy Shelby living in isolation, haunted by his past. But with World War II raging and chaos unfolding, exile doesn’t last long. Shelby is pulled back into the storm for what’s being described as his most destructive reckoning yet.
With family, legacy, and country all hanging in the balance, Tommy must decide whether to confront his demons… or burn everything down.
The Shelby saga isn’t over — it’s just leveling up.
