Mayor Patrick Brown presented Capleton with the municipal citation and proclamation recognizing his career, cultural impact, and community activism.

The presentation coincided with Capleton’s return to Canada after more than a decade, during which he headlined the Soul Food Caribbean Festival’s “Fire in the Park” event.

Capleton expressed deep gratitude on social media and through the Jamaica Observer, noting that the recognition from City of Brampton inspired him to continue spreading consciousness and Rastafari messages through his music.
