Sad times!
For the first time in over 30 years, there isn’t a rap song on Billboard’s Top 40.
There are NO rap songs charting inside the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 this week for the first time in over 35 years ❌
The last time this happened was February 1990. pic.twitter.com/Y6LcYZgUwl

Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther” was the last rap track hanging onto a spot. The song fell out of the top 100 this week.
The song closest to the top 40 is YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s “Shot Callin” at Number 44.
The last time a rap song wasn’t in the top 40 was February 2nd, 1990, when Biz Markie’s “Just A Friend” was ranked at 41 before rising to be a top 10 hit.
