A historic cyber breach has exposed 16 billion passwords, marking what cybersecurity pros are calling the largest data leak in internet history.

“This is not just a leak – it’s a blueprint for mass exploitation,” said researchers who’ve been tracking the breach since early 2025.

Cybernews researcher Vilius Petkauskas revealed the hack involved “30 exposed datasets containing from tens of millions to over 3.5 billion records each.” These included logins for platforms like Google, Apple, Facebook, GitHub, Telegram, and even some government services.
