Cleveland Cavaliers veteran Tristan Thompson is working to mend the rift between his longtime friend Drake and NBA superstar LeBron James, citing their shared history and friendship as motivation.

During his appearance on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast with Shannon Sharpe, Thompson expressed his desire to facilitate a reunion, recognizing both stars’ contributions to their respective fields.

The discord between James and Drake reportedly started amid Drake’s feud with Kendrick Lamar, particularly when James was seen enjoying Lamar’s diss tracks.

Thompson emphasized the deep personal connection he has with Drake, describing him as family since he was 17, and highlighted Drake’s support during difficult times, like attending Thompson’s mother’s funeral in 2023.

While Thompson is actively trying to bring the two icons back together, the tension has been acknowledged by James, who previously stated that he and Drake are currently in “different places” but maintains a sentiment of “always love” towards him.

Thompson attributed his loyalty to Drake and other Canadian stars like The Weeknd and PARTYNEXTDOOR to their shared Canadian heritage, which creates a communal support system among them.
