106 & Park Reunion Announced for BET Awards

BET is bringing back 106 & Park for one night only.
Former hosts and guests from the classic television show will appear during the upcoming BET Awards on June 9th.
Past hosts AJ Calloway, Free, Julissa Bermudez, Keshia Chanté, Rocsi Diaz, and Terrence J will join Bow Wow, B2K, Mya, Amerie, Jim Jones, and T.I. to celebrate the 25th anniversary of 106 & Park.
The music video countdown and performance show aired for 14 years, starting in 2000.

Claudia Sandz is an honors graduate of Centennial College’s Communications and Media Fundamentals program and Humber College’s Radio Broadcasting program. She has co-hosted the live-streamed podcast Gringo Latino Talks, written blogs for popular Canadian Latin brand Barrio at TorontoLatino.com, and assisted Friday Ricky Dread on the WeLoveHipHop Network.

Veracia Ankrah, aka “Vee Aye,” is a music and culture journalist based in Vaughan, just outside Toronto. A self-described walking contradiction, she’s a womanist and hip-hop enthusiast who embodies the spirit of Lauryn Hill, Living Single’s Maxine Shaw, and Grey’s Anatomy’s Cristina Yang.

DJ Mel Boogie

Hailing from Toronto, DJ MelBoogie is one of Canada’s most renowned female DJs, with a career spanning over 30 years. Known for her contributions to community and music organizations, she made history as the DJ for the 2023 JUNO Awards’ tribute to 50 years of hip-hop, sharing the stage with Canadian icons like Kardinal Offishall, Michie Mee, and Choclair in a performance watched by 2.2 million viewers nationwide.

As chair of the JUNO Rap Advisory Board, MelBoogie has worked to amplify women’s voices in the industry. She also co-founded the Black Music Brunch with Maestro Fresh Wes, an annual event celebrating contributors to Black music in Canada. DJ Baby Yu is a global force in the music industry, blending his passion for music with a commitment to inspiring others. Originally from Toronto and now based in Los Angeles, Baby Yu is renowned for his live blends and mixes that energize audiences worldwide.

Now, VIBE105 FM is where he has chosen to leave his indelible mark. DJ O likes to display contrasting balance to hip-hop with the Nice & Slow slow jam mix show most nights of the week.
