Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has added another high-profile project to his television portfolio. On Monday, September 8, the music mogul announced via social media that he has secured the rights to Paid in Full, the 2002 cult classic crime drama, and is adapting it into a premium television series.
“I now have the rights to PAID IN FULL, I’m developing it into a premium TV show. If you like Godfather of Harlem you’re gonna love this. Cam set to Executive produce along side me, if you want in get at him I’m out of the country,” Jackson wrote, signaling both ownership of the property and his plans to expand it into long-form storytelling.

The original film starred Wood Harris, Mekhi Phifer, and Cam’ron, chronicling Harlem’s 1980s drug trade through fictionalized versions of Azie Faison, Rich Porter, and Alpo Martinez. For Jackson, the move reinforces his dominance in crime-driven television. His STARZ juggernaut Power produced multiple spinoffs, while BMF further established him as a force in prestige dramas rooted in street culture.
Cam’ron, who played Rico in the film, confirmed his involvement as executive producer with an enthusiastic Instagram post: “So we’ve been talking about this for a few months now, and it’s almost time. Thx @50cent for the opportunity my n***a. We gonna burn this shit down!!”
His participation bridges the original film’s legacy with its modern reinterpretation, offering authenticity for fans who still revere Paid in Full as a hip-hop classic.
But not everyone celebrated the announcement. Damon Dash, who co-produced the 2002 film through Roc-A-Fella Films, offered a barbed reaction.

“Cam just made a post, major announcement. I wanna congratulate him for making 50 his new boss, so congratulations, Cam. 50 is now your new boss, and you’re proud of it. Congratulations, my n***a,” Dash said, framing the partnership as less collaboration and more submission.
