Yung Miami’s Bid to Rekindle Magic with Drake

Yung Miami revealed on Cam Newton’s YouTube show that she attempted to get Drake on her song “Take Me to Chanel” during his public disputes with Kendrick Lamar and Metro Boomin in 2024 but did not receive the collaboration she hoped for.

Despite her disappointment, Yung Miami expressed understanding of Drake’s situation, remarking that artists prioritize their personal challenges over features.

In her message to Drake, Yung Miami indicated that she believed he would complement her track well, but he only reacted by liking the request without providing a verse.

Yung Miami referred to her previous collaboration with Drake on “In My Feelings,” stating it was a pivotal moment for the City Girls that significantly elevated their careers and public visibility.

The song “In My Feelings” featured Yung Miami and JT, and its success, reaching ten weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, was described by Miami as the breakthrough moment for the duo.

During the interview, Miami continued to affirm her admiration for Drake, calling him a “supportive” figure and respecting his knack for identifying and elevating emerging artists within the music industry.
