During their conversation, both actors discussed the evolution of audience perceptions about their on-screen relationship, with Washington noting that some viewers are reconsidering its healthiness now that they are older.

Goldwyn expressed surprise at this realization from fans, highlighting the intense nature of Olivia and Fitz’s love story, characterized by both passion and dysfunction, which kept viewers engaged throughout the show’s seven seasons.

Despite the complexities of their relationship, Washington and Goldwyn agree that Olivia and Fitz remain together, with Washington humorously suggesting that they are in couples therapy to work through their challenges.
