Tupac Shakur will make an appearance in Sega’s new video game, Stranger Than Heaven, where he will be portrayed as a character named Amaru, referencing his middle name linked to the 18th-century rebel Túpac Amaru II.

The game, an action-adventure crime drama, follows a half-Japanese, half-American orphan navigating crime, music, and personal destiny over fifty years across five cities in Japan.

Snoop Dogg announced Tupac’s involvement during the Summer Game Fest 2026, emphasizing collaboration with both his son, Cordell Broadus, and Tupac’s estate.

The game’s production aims to honor Tupac’s legacy, with Sega stating there will be no use of AI in creating his character, relying instead on archival footage and photographs for design.

Stranger Than Heaven is set for release on January 15, 2027, and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

In addition to Tupac, Snoop Dogg will also appear in the game, alongside other musicians such as Tori Kelly, Ado, and Satoshi Fujihara.

The partnership with Tupac’s estate ensures that his likeness and spirit are respected throughout the game’s development. Further details about his character will be provided later.
