Lil Wayne’s Lost Lyrics Offered For $5 Million

Handwritten lyrics by Lil Wayne from 1999 are being offered for sale for $5 million.

The lyrics feature the songs “I Feel” and “We On Fire” from the Hot Boys’ album Guerrilla Warfare.

A high school worker found the lyrics in a trash bin at a New Orleans car dealership, where items were discarded after Cash Money Records co-founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams traded in luxury vehicles.

The written sheets include doodles of the Magnolia Projects and a contact number for Club Whispers, a nightclub frequented by rappers.

The item’s current owner and his attorney believe them to be the only known handwritten lyrics from Lil Wayne’s early career.

In 2019, the owner attempted to auction the lyrics via Moments In Time for $250,000, but a cease-and-desist letter from Lil Wayne’s attorney claimed the rapper had “misplaced” the notebook, leading to the auction being retracted.

A lawsuit was filed in Orleans Parish Civil District Court in 2023, where Louisiana law allowed for ownership claims after holding property for ten years.

Lil Wayne’s attorney did not contest the claim.

The lyrics now sit in a safe deposit box, reflecting a significant increase in value from the initial $250,000 to the current $5 million asking price.
