Falling in love with the Niagara Peninsula not only means visiting its worldwide known attraction – the Niagara Falls – but it also means visiting its wineries and vineyards. According to the Ontario´s Vintners Quality Alliance, Niagara is home of roughly over 55% of wineries and has the largest planted area of all viticultural areas in Canada. Find out what the first Top 5 Wineries are!
1. Magnotta Winery (3rd Largest Winery in Ontario)
Location: 4701 Ontario Street, Beamsville LOR 1B4
Located at the heart of the Niagara Peninsula, which is considered one of the finest wine regions in the world, is Magnotta Wineries. Over 25 years of viticulture history, it is the third largest winery in Ontario as well as one of Canada’s 50 best managed companies for over 10 consecutive years. It has earned more than 4,500 awards for product excellence.
This winery is built from a proud Canadian family winery and grape grower, with over 180 different wines that can satisfy a wide range of palettes. Luckily, you don’t have to go all the way to Niagara to get your Magnotta wine fix as they have several retail stores across Ontario.
Even though it might feel like summer is over, you can always go to the tasting events they hold throughout the year.
2. Redstone (Winery and Restaurant)
Location: 4245 King Street, Beamsville LOR 1B1
Although under 10 years old, Redstone was inspired by the colour of the intense red clay soil and large stones found in the Beamsville area. It offers a variety of wines, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, among others.
Redstone isn’t just a winery, it’s also a restaurant!
If you’re looking for specialty nights, Wednesdays from 5 to 8pm you can get a stone oven pizza with a glass of wine or cider for only $13. However, if you’re craving for something more decadent, you can have Marinated Scallops or Smoked Sablefish. Additionally, this restaurant serves as a special event venue for weddings and catered events such as corporate meetings.

Location: 3201 King Street Vineland LOR 2CO
Stoney Ridge Estate Winery is not only known for its wide variety of 100% Niagara wines but they also have more than 30 products and Icewines and over 20 varieties of cheese throughout the year.
If grocery store cheese just isn’t cutting it for you, you’ll be sure to find unique and different cheeses that will definitely satisfy your decadent taste buds. While they have no shortage of cheese specifically from Canada, they also have cheese from many other countries around the world.
4. Tawse Winery (State-of-the-art Winery)
