Konzelmann Estate Winery (An Educational Experience) Location: 1096 Lakeshore Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake Website: http://www.konzelmann.ca Located just 5 minutes from historic downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake, Konzelmann Estate Winery offers the most friendly, informative and educational experiences in Niagara´s Wine Country. This winery is one of the Niagara’s first wineries and are carefully handcrafted by 4th generation winemaker Herbert Konzelmann. Throughout its huge variety of tours that are available, this winery began in the small German town of Uhlbach at the end of the 19th century, when a restauranteur named Frederick Konzelmann started to pursue his dream of winemaking. By 1984 the Konzelmann family immigrated to Canada and bought a lakefront peach orchard. Since then, the family has been a successful winery. 7. Lundy Manor Wine Cellars (Good For Social Events) Location: 9941 Lundy´s Lane, Niagara Falls. Website: https://lundymanor.ca Located in the city of Niagara Falls, this mansion was purchased in 2012 and used for hosting private social events such as weddings or corporative events. Lundy Manor produces 100% Niagara wines in its has 60 acres of vineyards. 8. Palatine Hills Estate Winery Location: 911 Lakeshore Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake Website: http://www.palatinehillsestatewinery.com Did you know that some of the most important battles of the war of 1812 took place in the Niagara Region and one of the more notable ones were Queenston Heights and Fort George. The vineyards of Palatine Hills Estate Winery are located over these historical lands. 9. Pillitteri Estates Winery (Free Wine Tours) Location: 1696 Niagara Stone Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake. Website: https://www.pillitteri.com/ Visiting a winery doesn’t necessarily have to cost you a lot of money. In the peak season of the summer, some wineries will offer free wine tours. Pillitteri Estates Winery offers public tours for groups less than 10 people daily at 12pm, 2pm, and 3pm. An expert of wines will guide you throughout the production facilities of Pillitteri Winery, as well as the unique barrel cellar. During the tour, you will receive red and white wine samples. While you can also just drop in, they do get busy on weekends so booking your tour would be recommended. 10. Reif Estate Winery (House of a Wine Sensory Garden) Location: 15608 Niagara Parkway, Niagara-on-the-Lake. Website: https://reifwinery.com/ Have you ever heard about a Wine Sensory Garden, where you can think about colours, scents, aromas and flavours that are used to describe the wines? At Reif Estate Winery you will be able to walk throughout this garden while you taste a glass of wine and an artisan cheese plate. On top of that, wine gelatos and light bites are also available from an outdoor kitchen.
