By Apollo P We cover famous One Hit Wonders from 2010-2014. You'll be surprised who's on our list! This is part 3 of a 4-part series giving you a run-down of the one hit wonders everyone has heard. Part 1 Part 2 Part 4 2010: Far East Movement – Like A G6 © Far East Movement VEVO | YouTube The Far East Movement came West for a brief moment in time as they hopped on the G6 and flew off into a place where one hit wonders go. They were the first Asian-American group to earn a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Where are they now? The group is gaining success out East rather than here in the West. 2011: YC – Rackz ft. Future © ycVevo | YouTube Take the time right now and google YC; if you are looking at him you can see he was a dusty dude. After years of trying to get a song that could connect with the masses, he finally found it with “Racks.” At one moment it seemed that everyone in Atlanta wanted to be around YC. The song peaked at number 42 on Billboard Hot 100 charts. The fame must have gotten to his head because he got five kids by five different women. He hasn’t done anything much since his rise to brief fame. 2012: Cashout – Cashin Out © Cash Out Vevo | YouTube In 2012, Cashout released his only big song titled “Cashin Out.” This song propelled his non-existing music career into a full-fledged business with benefits (women and Hennessey). The song peaked at number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The song proved to be bigger than the artist (everyone knew the song but didn’t know the person who sang it). Cash out released a few songs after that, but none were able to perform as well as his one hit. 2013: Rocko – U.O.E.N.O ft. Rick Ross & Future © Rocko Vevo | YouTube Back in 2013 Rocko climaxed (as an artist) when he dropped his hit song U.O.E.N.O. The song peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. After the success of the single Rick Ross caught backlash for the lyrics in the song. In some way, this hurt the hit from gaining more momentum commercially. After an unsuccessful rap career, Rocko sued his former artist Future for breach of contract. The two apparently settled the issue, but Rocko will forever be a one-hit wonder. 2014: Bobby Shmurda – Hot Boy © Bobby Shmurda Vevo | YouTube Bobby Shmurda had a very short-lived career (Grand opening, Grand closing). In 2014, Bobby uploaded his music video to YouTube called “Hot N*gga” (Hot Boy). The song started to pick up due to its success on Vine. Bobby was turned into an overnight celebrity within a couple of months. The song peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. However, with his new found attention, the police started up an investigation on Bobby and his crew “GS9”. In December of that same year, Bobby and his crew were arrested for criminal activities that had taken place in New York. Currently, Bobby is locked up serving a 7-year sentence.
