Sly Dunbar, the legendary reggae drummer and half of the influential duo Sly & Robbie, has died at the age of 73.

The news was confirmed by his wife and daughter. He passed away at his home in Kingston, Jamaica.
The cause of death has not been disclosed, but Dunbar had been experiencing health issues prior to his passing.

Dunbar and bass guitarist Robbie Shakespeare, who died in 2021, formed Sly & Robbie, a rhythm section known for revolutionizing reggae music.
The duo’s extensive collaborations spanned hundreds of songs and included work with major artists across genres, such as Bob Dylan, Grace Jones, and The Rolling Stones.
Sly & Robbie’s work is estimated to have contributed to over 200,000 recordings, encompassing not only original tracks but also remixes and samples.
