The reggae world is grieving the passing of Stephen “Cat” Coore, co‑founder of the iconic band Third World. He was 69.
Coore wasn’t just a musician — he was a visionary who fused reggae with soul, funk, jazz, and classical influences, creating a sound that helped carry Jamaican music to global stages.
His work with Third World shaped generations and left a mark that can’t be overstated. A tremendous loss for music, but an even greater legacy that will continue to inspire.
