Jamaican dancehall legend Sean Paul is stepping up after Hurricane Melissa wreaked havoc on his homeland.

The storm has shattered communities, torn roofs from houses, and triggered displacement on a massive scale.

“Right now, my island of Jamaica is going through a really tough time,” Paul stated in the caption of his Instagram video calling for help. “Hurricane Melissa has caused serious damage, and many of our brothers and sisters are struggling, families displaced, homes destroyed, and communities in need of help.”

Hailing from Toronto, DJ MelBoogie is one of Canada’s most renowned female DJs, with a career spanning over 30 years.
