Usher is launching a massive 33-date stadium tour with Chris Brown and completely dismissing concerns about his collaborator’s controversial past.

Usher said Chris Brown’s previous legal troubles and assault convictions never factored into his decision to share the stage.

He said, “Absolutely not. He’s my brother, and he’s amazing as a performer.”

The North American tour officially kicks off this Friday in Denver.

Usher said the joint concert run is about more than 2 major names, and serves as a larger mission to elevate R&B music.

He said the genre rarely receives equal recognition and added, “It deserves to be in a stadium. It is not just for theaters.”
