Vybz Kartel Touches Down In Toronto For Day 1 Of 3 Concerts

Vybz Kartel didn’t disappoint the sold out crowd for the first of a series of concerts at Scotiabank Arena on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

Kartel, dressed in a Toronto Blue Jays jersey, delivered a high-energy performance, treating the sold-out crowd to classics from his 20-year career.

The event marked his historic first-ever live performance in Canada.

The events were presented by Drake’s OVO Sound and featured a surprise appearance by Drake himself.

Drake joined Kartel on stage, saluting him as a major influence on his music. Drake’s appearance was a significant moment for the crowd, with one fan stating they had waited “our whole [expletive] lives” to see Kartel.

DJ Mel Boogie

Hailing from Toronto, DJ MelBoogie is one of Canada’s most renowned female DJs, with a career spanning over 30 years. Known for her contributions to community and music organizations, she made history as the DJ for the 2023 JUNO Awards’ tribute to 50 years of hip-hop, sharing the stage with Canadian icons like Kardinal Offishall, Michie Mee, and Choclair in a performance watched by 2.2 million viewers nationwide.

As chair of the JUNO Rap Advisory Board, MelBoogie has worked to amplify women’s voices in the industry. She also co-founded the Black Music Brunch with Maestro Fresh Wes, an annual event celebrating contributors to Black music in Canada.
